As a youngster living in Dagenham I would walk down to the river to watch the Thames barges sailing by or loading and unloading at the various wharves. I joined the Thames Barge Sailing Club and spent my weekends sailing in these craft from London and around the estuary. I used the photographs taken on these occasions for making my prints
